Easy Home-Cooked Meals

Lets be honest, cooking meals can sometimes be a pain. Our lives don’t always allow us to stay at home all day and work on cooking a beautiful dinner. That takes hours away from the day that most of us need to use for other things in our lives. Whether you are in school, working or doing whatever it is that is making your life busy, you might not have the time to cook elaborate meals for your family every day. If you are like me, you have to learn to cut corners. I am always looking for meals that are quick, easy, and at least a little nutritious.

I have found that crockpot meals are a great solution. I just recently got on the crockpot bandwagon and it has literally saved my life. I am very busy with school and work right now and don’t always have time to cook meals for my husband and I. I leave early in the morning and don’t get back until right during dinner time, and i hardly have the time or energy to spend hours making a meal. So i have found that making a crockpot meal in the morning is amazing because i come home to a delicious and nutritious dinner. It sometimes takes a little preparation the night before, but as long as i get that thing turned on in the morning, i can come home to an delicious smelling house, and don’t have to worry about cooking for hours for a decent meal.

Searching for good recipes for the crockpot isn’t too hard. If you just google “crockpot meals” hundreds of recipes will pop up. Soups, chicken dishes, mexican dishes, or a roast, there are a ton of great things you can make in the crockpot. The hard part is finding the ones that are tried and true and known to be delicious. Here is one of my favorite meals i have made in the crockpot that is one of my staple meals at hoome that you should definitely try.

Shredded BBQ Pork

1 Pork Roast

2 litter bottle of Coke

1 bottle of your favorite BBQ sauce

This is a very simple and easy crockpot recipe. First put your Pork Roast in the Crockpot and pour the coke over the roast until it covers it entirely. Then turn on your crockpot on high and cook for 5-7 hours or on low and cook for 8-10 hours. Make sure to check your pork before you take it out, because some crockpots are different and will cook at different rates. It should be very soft and moist and will fall apart very easily when it’s done. When done, pour out the coke and shred the pork with a fork. When shredded, add your deisred amount of BBQ sauce. This meals is great for BBQ pork sandwhiches, with potatoes and carrots, or on quesidillas.

This is a very versitile and fast recipe that you can put together very easily and doesn’t have much too it. You will find that it is very delicious as well!
